The Yellow Wallpaper Society
An identity and branding system for a fictional secret society.
Based on the short story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, The Yellow Wallpaper Society was established for mothers suffering from postpartum depression who are misunderstood by their partners. They meet within the wallpaper to plot against their partners and gain a sense of malicious power. This project consists of branding the society, creating a calendar of events, and designing stationery.
The wallpaper pattern was created using typography to reflect the mystery and madness described within the pattern in the story. The "Y" found in the wallpaper creates a sinister tone and provides a visual bridge between Gilman's words and the disaster caused by oppression.
