A magazine design celebrating the authenticity of human nature.
Awkward Journal seeks to emphasize and celebrate the weird and uncomfortable moments that make us human. The magazine consists of three sections—Awkward In Use, Features, and That Awkward Moment—which each use a different complex grid system to compliment the content within. Typographic hierarchy is used throughout the magazine to emphasize moments of discomfort and humor, while also staying true to the brand of the magazine. Three covers were developed to show how the magazine issues work as a system.
